Great Wolf Lodge

Two weeks ago we got to spend a night at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine.  My parents got us a room and so we spent Friday- Saturday evening there.  We had never been to Great Wolf before.  It was super neat and we had lots of fun.  It was so good to get away as a family and just have some time just us and the girls.  With the funeral and everything we didn't really get to see the girls that much for the whole week- so it was much needed time with them.  Payton had a blast.  She was a little intimidated by the water park but she had so much fun.  Kinsley was too little to do anything but she loves to watch her sister!  We loved our time and enjoyed every minute of it.  I took a million photos so here are some of them :)

Kinsley is 10 Months

Kinsley is 10 months old (although I am late in posting, the pictures were taken a the right time).  She is very mobile- always on the move.  She loves to follow her big sister around.  She is adventurous and fearless.  She cruises around furniture really well and has even taken a step.  Won't be long until she is walking and running.  She got two more teeth this month too :)  In spite of not taking naps, she is an extremely happy baby.  She is so much fun.  She's always smiling.  She still eating and sleeping great at night.  She is growing so fast- I can't believe she is almost a year.  She is really vocal- she can be quite loud sometimes.  Her hair (what she has of it) has become really blonde this month.  She hates bows and won't keep one on her head for anything.  Thankfully its finally starting to grow a bit- no more cradle cap :)  We love her so much and love watching her grow!  She is amazing!

Joy in Pain

Its been awhile since my last blog post.  In all honesty I don't really know what to write.    I have been staring at my blank page for awhile.  For those who don't know, Jonny's mom passed away on September 12.  It has been an incredibly difficult past few weeks.  It was sudden and totally knocked the floor from under us.  Donna was a loving, passionate, joyful, selfless, and beautiful woman.  She loved the Lord and showed His love daily.  She was the best wife, mother, and Nana.  We will miss her greatly but hold on to the promise that we will see her again.  Me and Jonny are so thankful for all the support we have received over the past weeks.  People have cried with us, prayed for/with us, brought us meals, cleaned our house, watched our kids, and so much more.  We have felt so loved and had tremendous support through this process.  We know that the road to healing is still a long one but we are trusting in Him.  We know that He is and will work this for good.  We know that even through the storms and trials of this world, He is still sovereign and His promises still hold true.  We have peace and joy in our Savior because we know that He is at work and He will use this storm to make us more like Him- to bring Him glory.  God has been already teaching us so much through this time.  He is drawing us to Him.  Wrapping His arms around us and holding us closely.  He is placing people, books, sermons, podcasts, and so many resources that have helped us tremendously.  Most importantly we are clinging to His word and promises.  Please continue to pray as we grieve and move forward.  Continue to pray for Jonny, Scott (Jonny's dad), Chris (Jonny's brother) and all the family she has left behind.  She has 5 grandkids.  The holidays are coming upon us and we know it will be really hard.  Thanks for the prayers and support.  We are thankful.

"According to the foreknowledge of God the Father and set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for sprinkling with the blood of Jesus Christ.
May grace and peace be multiplied to you.  Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead 4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, uncorrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. 5 You are being protected by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 You rejoice in this, though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials 7 so that the genuineness of your faith—more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 8 You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy,9 because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls."  1 Peter 1:2-9
