Alaska

If you don't know, I just got back from a week in Alaska with our church, Rush Creek.  We were there helping True North church in Anchorage.  We worked in a soup kitchen, with landscaping, remodeling, and block parties.  The weather was beautiful and we had a great time!  I enjoyed getting to know so many people that go to our church I didn't know before.  God did some great things through our team and True North.  Thankful for the opportunity to serve on this great trip!!  Alaska is beautiful!!  Here is some pics:

It's a girl!!!

So yesterday I had my 20 week appointment.  Jonny couldn't be there for the sonogram because of all the work he has missed for his arm surgery and physical therapy.  I had the sonogram tech write down the gender and put it in an envelope so we could open it and find out together.  "Gender Reveal" parties are all the rage these days.  When I was carrying Payton (which was not that long ago) I had never even heard of gender reveal parties.  I knew I wanted to do something special but not spend much money or have a huge thing.  I decided to fill two black balloons with confetti.  If blue confetti came out- its a boy.  If pink- its a girl.  So I took the envelope to party city and the lady filled the balloons so I didn't find out.  We  had some family come over and we all found out together.  It was lots of fun!  After the reveal we went to BJ's to eat.  Thankful for our family for sharing in such a special time with us!  I don't know if Jonny is ready for all the pink but he is excited.  I have a video uploaded to facebook but it's not letting me put it on here.  Once I figure it out I will post it.

20 Weeks

I am 20 weeks today.  I have reached the half-way mark.  It's crazy how fast time is going.  Feels like yesterday I took that test.  I have been feeling pretty good lately.  Still have some bad days but most are good and I am so thankful for that.  Felt our little girl kick for the first time on July 4th.  Definitely the best feeling ever.  Daddy still hasn't been able to feel her but I am sure it will be soon.  She is quite the wiggle worm.  We had our 20 week checkup and sonogram yesterday.  We found our we are having another baby girl.  We are both thrilled about another little girl.  Stryker will have to wait haha!  Our sweet little girl looked great.  She is healthy, growing, and moving like crazy.

It's a gir!!!!

What's going on with Baby??  She's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for her digestive system. She's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in her first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

What's Next??  Glucose test- fun fun :)

Stats:
Baby's Size:  Mango (8 inches and 11oz)
Baby's heartbeat:  153bpm
Momma's weight:  Still 128
Weight Gain:  None- but baby looks great!!
Days to go:  20 weeks!!!

4th of July

We had a very fun/busy fourth of July.  Being in the middle of the week made for an early night but we still got to see fireworks and have some fun!  Tuesday night we went with Nana and Papa to Addison.  We ate at Olive Garden and then watched the pretty fireworks.  Payton loved them.  She was clapping the whole time.  She also loved watching all the cars go by since we were right off the street.  The only downside to the evening was the 2.5 hour drive home :(  Traffic was horrible.  Wednesday, we spent the day at Nana and Papa's swimming and playing in the sun.  After that we went and spent some time with our friends at Stephen and Stephs.  Payton was exhausted by the end of the night.  It was a great two days.  Thankful for our freedom and the ones who have given and continue to sacrifice for our country!
