Joy in Pain

Its been awhile since my last blog post.  In all honesty I don't really know what to write.    I have been staring at my blank page for awhile.  For those who don't know, Jonny's mom passed away on September 12.  It has been an incredibly difficult past few weeks.  It was sudden and totally knocked the floor from under us.  Donna was a loving, passionate, joyful, selfless, and beautiful woman.  She loved the Lord and showed His love daily.  She was the best wife, mother, and Nana.  We will miss her greatly but hold on to the promise that we will see her again.  Me and Jonny are so thankful for all the support we have received over the past weeks.  People have cried with us, prayed for/with us, brought us meals, cleaned our house, watched our kids, and so much more.  We have felt so loved and had tremendous support through this process.  We know that the road to healing is still a long one but we are trusting in Him.  We know that He is and will work this for good.  We know that even through the storms and trials of this world, He is still sovereign and His promises still hold true.  We have peace and joy in our Savior because we know that He is at work and He will use this storm to make us more like Him- to bring Him glory.  God has been already teaching us so much through this time.  He is drawing us to Him.  Wrapping His arms around us and holding us closely.  He is placing people, books, sermons, podcasts, and so many resources that have helped us tremendously.  Most importantly we are clinging to His word and promises.  Please continue to pray as we grieve and move forward.  Continue to pray for Jonny, Scott (Jonny's dad), Chris (Jonny's brother) and all the family she has left behind.  She has 5 grandkids.  The holidays are coming upon us and we know it will be really hard.  Thanks for the prayers and support.  We are thankful.

"According to the foreknowledge of God the Father and set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for sprinkling with the blood of Jesus Christ.
May grace and peace be multiplied to you.  Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that is imperishable, uncorrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. You are being protected by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. You rejoice in this, though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials so that the genuineness of your faith—more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy, because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls."  1 Peter 1:2-9
