27 MILLION people are sold into slavery around the world today. The number still astounds me. 27 million men, women and children are forced to live in bondage every day. Little girls and boys who should be playing outside and learning their ABCs have their innocence and childhood taken from them everyday. We cannot stand for this. We must put an end to it. We must fight, pray, and take a stand. Whether through financial, volunteering, prayer, awareness, or whatever means- we must stand up for those without a voice. I think of Isaiah 61 (the whole chapter is great but here is a piece of it) "The Spirit of the Lord God is on Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of our God’s vengeance; to comfort all who mourn, to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair. And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the Lord to glorify Him."
