“Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last.” Mark 9:35

Well what a weekend/week its been!  Saturday, Jonny and I went with Pantego Bible church to serve lunch to the homeless in Ft. Forth.  The Passion conference was in Ft. Worth and all the lunches they didn't use- we took to the homeless.  They had something like 1000 box lunches left over from Jason's Deli!  We had 5 cars and they were filled to the brim.  There were box lunches everywhere.  We even had to go back for another trip because there was so many!
We gave out everyone of those boxes!  It was a very eye opening experience for me.  We first went by the Union Gospel Mission (about 5 minutes away from downtown).  So many homeless people coming and grabbing lunches!  Some taking more than one.  They were everywhere.  We then drove a little further down and there was a whole street just filled with tents and people living in them.  We met a father and his 5 year old and 2 months old baby... Man, did that take a lot out of me- it took everything I had not to break down and cry right there.  So little and they had NOTHING!  Then we took the rest to Salvation Army.  I had no idea how many homeless people lived here- and just 15 minutes from our house!  God definitely opened my eye to a need that I was ignorant of.  I definitely spent some time thanking my Jesus for a roof, food, and so many technological conveniences!  I would definitely love to find a way to serve again sometime soon.  And find ways to help the need at home- by donating some clothes instead of throwing them away or donating to a food pantry pretty regularly!  It was good experience and it was sooo good to serve with my hubby!  I love doing work for God's kingdom right along side my husband!  He the Spiritual leader of our house and definitely has such a giving and servant heart- a wonderful role model!

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”  1 John 3:16

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’"  Matthew 25:40

Sunday was my birthday!  Saturday night I watched my little cousins till like 3 in the morning.  I didn't get home and in bed till 430.  So Jonny let me sleep in Sunday (sadly we missed church :( but I was exhausted- I am a momma now and I am not use to all nighters).  When I woke up he had cleaned the house, went to the store, got my car washed, and had Payton ready for the day.  It was so thoughtful and sweet!  After getting up we headed over to my parents for some lunch!  It was a day with the family- relaxing and sweet!  That night my best friend, Joanna took me out to dinner at Gloria's and treated me to a pedicure!  She is amazing and I am so thankful for the friendship I have with her!  It was great company, food, and fun!  And that night the women's A&M basketball team beat Stanford to advance to the championship game- WHOOP!
The next day I woke up with a horrible Migraine (this was Monday).  So my mom took Payton for the day so I could lay in bed and get some rest- so blessed!!  After taking some medicine and taking a solid 4 hour nap- I felt so much better!  I went to get Payton and when I got home I had a present waiting for me from Stephanie and Stephen.
Yummy :)  Love me some Red Velvet Cake

And today we started house sitting for family I use to nanny for.  We will be here a whole week (they live in Ft. Worth).  They have a dog and two cats!  And the best part of the week (so far) is of course..... The Fightin Texas Aggies won the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP for the 1st time in school history!!!!!! WHOOP!  Man, it was a GREAT/INTENSE game.  I thought I was gonna have a heart attack at the end there but my beloved Aggies pulled it through, played tough, and WON!  I am proud :)
